Its subsidiary, Melrose Ascension Capital (MAC), is a private equity real estate development and investment firm based in Chicago that is currently developing over $350 million, 750 units, 1,300 beds, and one million square feet of institutional multifamily projects throughout the United States. MAC utilizes industry fundamentals, innovation, and a relationship-oriented approach to source, capitalize, and execute its multifamily projects alongside global capital partnerships, prioritizing catering to demographics that are often outpriced and overlooked by other housing developers. The founder of MAC, Nick Melrose, has direct experience developing and acquiring over $1 billion and several million square feet of property nationwide during his career, and is a first-generation university graduate from a small town in northeast Iowa, which has instilled the company with Midwestern values and a unique perspective on the market.
