Niche Emerging Private Equity Manager Fund (NEPEM) was established for the Private Capital Group, a consortium of Australian superannuation schemes primarily based in Queensland, and is managed by Sovereign Investment Research. The fund of funds targeted emerging early-stage, expansion, buyout funds, and secondary fund-of-funds across various sectors. NEPEM was fully committed by Q3 2007.
As of Q4 2010, plans by Sovereign Investment Research to raise a follow-on fund remained on hold. However, the firm anticipated continued activity in private equity and planned to raise capital for a co-investment vehicle in 2011.
