MAHAPREIT Alternative Investment Fund (MAIF)
MAHAPREIT Alternative Investment Fund (MAIF) is a Category II Alternative Investment Fund registered with SEBI under registration number IN/AIF2/22-23/1109. Sponsored and managed by Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd (MAHAPREIT), a subsidiary of MPBCDC Ltd (a Government of Maharashtra undertaking), the fund has a base corpus of INR 500 crore with a green shoe option of an additional INR 500 crore. The fund aims to support commercially viable projects that simultaneously promote environmental sustainability and uplift economically backward communities. Investment domains include renewable energy, disaster management, infrastructure, agro-processing, biofuels, EV charging stations, and affordable housing. MAIF evaluates projects based on financial viability, scalability, social impact, and potential benefits to backward communities.
