Korean Film Council
The Korean Film Council is a public body headquartered in Busan, South Korea. It was founded in 1973 as the Korean Motion Picture Promotion Corporation and reformed in 1999 to increase autonomy and widen its ability to shape the film industry policy. The company is in charge of rating films, videos, and other motion pictures based on their age, as well as marketing and supporting the Korean film industry domestically and internationally. KOFIC offers a cinematheque, film museum, library, and rental services, as well as providing resources on Korean film history, trivia, and publications via its website, koreanfilm.or.kr, which is available in Korean, English, and Chinese.
