DuPont Pension Plan
The DuPont Pension Plan is a noncontributory defined benefit plan that covers most of DuPont's U.S. employees. The company and its subsidiaries offer medical, dental, and life insurance benefits to retirees and their survivors. The pension fund's assets are managed by DuPont Capital, an investment management subsidiary established in 1975 specifically for this purpose.
Founded in 1802 and incorporated in Delaware in 1915, DuPont is a global science company with a vast workforce and a wide range of products. The company organizes its businesses into five main categories, or "platforms": Electronic and Communication Technologies, Performance Materials, Coatings and Color Technologies, Safety and Protection, and Agriculture and Nutrition.
In 2019, EI DuPont, the plan sponsor, merged with Dow Chemical Company to form DuPont de Nemours, Inc. However, the two companies did not combine their pension plans, with EI DuPont retaining all of its defined benefit pension plans, except for the U.S. plan.
