Foundation North
Foundation North is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 and headquartered in New Zealand. With a vision to enhance lives, Foundation North holds in trust for the communities of Auckland and Northland an endowment of $1.4 billion, which comes from the sale of the community's shares in the previously owned Auckland Savings Bank. This perpetual endowment allows the foundation to make around $40 million in grants each year to not-for-profit groups and community initiatives in Auckland and Northland. Since its founding, the Foundation has returned over $1.25 billion in grants to the region, specializing in philanthropy, grant-making and community support grants.
