William and Flora Hewlett Foundation is a nonpartisan, private charitable foundation established in 1966 in the United States. For more than 50 years, the foundation has advanced ideas and supported institutions to promote a better world, with a focus on education, environment, developing countries, women's health and economic well-being, performing arts, Bay Area communities and effective philanthropy. Established through the personal generosity of the Hewlett family, the foundation is wholly independent of the Hewlett Packard Company and the Hewlett Packard Company Foundation.
