Sime Darby Berhad (recently rebranded corporately as simply "Sime") is one of Malaysia’s largest and most prominent multinational trading conglomerates, with a vast operational footprint extending across the Asia-Pacific region. Following a massive multi-year corporate restructuring—which saw the demerger of its plantation and property arms in 2017, and the subsequent divestment of non-core assets like its Tesco Malaysia hypermarket stake and its Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care division in late 2023—the company has entirely streamlined its focus. Today, Sime operates primarily as a pure-play powerhouse in the heavy machinery and automotive sectors.
