Queen's Health System Endowment
Queen's Health System is a nonprofit health care organization founded in 1859 with headquarters in the United States. It operates four hospitals and more than 70 preventive and specialty health care locations and labs throughout the Pacific region. As the state's largest employer, it has 10,000 caregivers, medical staff, and leadership. Queen's Health System serves as the major referral center for cancer, cardiovascular disease, neuroscience, orthopedics, surgery, emergency medicine, and behavioral health. It is the state's designated trauma center, verified as Level I by the American College of Surgeons, and has the only organ transplantation program in Hawaii. Queen's Health System is accredited by The Joint Commission and is the only hospital in Hawaii to achieve Magnet® status from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. It is also a major teaching hospital, serving as a clinical training site for the residency programs sponsored by the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii.
